The 2012 Victoria Drum Fest will be held on Saturday, May 19th at the Victoria Marriott Hotel. The festival will run from 1PM to 5PM and will feature DOM FAMULARO – Drumming’s Global Ambassador, SCOTT PELLEGROM – one of the most exciting players on the scene today, MURRAY CREED – one of Victoria’s most in demand drum instructors, JORDAN HANSON – Victoria’s biggest hand drumming instructor, Ronn Dunnett – World renowned snare drum builder, SEAN MITCHELL – the man behind www.theblackpage.net, the finalists of Victoria’s first ever Drum Solo contest and the always exciting Fastest Drummer Contest. Event History…

Victoria Drum Fest was founded by Murray Creed in 2010 as a way to inspire local drummers! As the owner of Groove Studios Murray is in a position to inspire drummers on a daily basis but he thought that a festival showcasing international and local talent would take it to the next step. So on April 18th it began… the Ambrosia Event Centre was the location and nearly 150 attendees were treated to great sets by Jason Cook, Chris Petersen, Murray Creed and Ron Thaler. Tom Lee Music’s “Victoria’s Fastest Drummer” contest was won by local drummer Chase Sander with an amazing 850 single strokes in one minute.

The 2011 Victoria Drum Fest saw Pat Steward, Gary Grace, Murray Creed and Jon Miller take the stage and play to a capacity crowd. This years “Victoria’s Fastest Drummer” contest was won by Groove Studios instructor Chris Petersen. Thanks to all the sponsors that donated their time and swag to be given out. Local drummer Sven Bourneman was the recipient of the grand prize… a beautiful Pearl Snare drum!
